Oh Charleston, you truly are a gem. I always love when clients request a session in historic downtown Charleston, but this sunset maternity session was just SO good! All of the stars aligned between the perfect weather, a gorgeous backdrop, and the sweetest expecting couple.

These two came to Charleston the first time for their “babymoon” which is a perfect place for that! They wanted to focus on the connection between them, knowing they would soon shift that focus to baby girl.

We met first at one of my favorite spots in Charleston with a charming cobblestone street. From there, we wandered the side streets as the sun went down and took in all of the gorgeous Spring blooms. I’m a nerd and tried to share some tidbits about Charleston with them, but I think I talked about food the most. Ha! I mean, that’s what I would have wanted to hear about if I were pregnant?! There were lots of laughs during this session. I love when clients just feel comfortable in front of the camera and have fun with it. Bonus points when Dad-to-be brings out the goofiness to make mama laugh!

We closed out this Charleston maternity session by the most beautiful collection of wisteria I’ve seen! Wisteria blooms for a very short time here in the Spring and the smell is glorious. My favorite images are always the last few images from a session and this was no exception. It was so fun capturing this sweet little family,  they couldn’t be more perfect just soaking up those moments together! I was so honored to be able to capture these memories for them!
