When this mama-to-be reached out to me about taking their downtown Charleston pregnancy announcement I was so excited! These two (now three!) were already planning to vacation in Charleston to celebrate mama’s birthday. And now they had the news of expecting their first baby to celebrate too! Did I mention it was also Christmas-time?!

Before all of my sessions, I send my clients a questionnaire. One of the questions asks what they want to remember most about this season of life. The response from these two reminded me just how special my job is. “The pure JOY and excitement of our news! We are so blessed and happy that God chose us to be parents. And how amazing that the timing worked out to allow us to have photos taken in our favorite city. I know we will cherish them forever.” I can still remember what it was like to find out I was pregnant for the first time. There are so many emotions and so much excitement. I often wish I had those moments documented, and now that I get to do that for other parents it’s really special.

Downtown Charleston at Christmas

Downtown Charleston at Christmas time is my family’s favorite- even my 5 year old asks to go explore the streets and look at all of the decor! It just feels so festive and is (finally!) the perfect sweater weather.

I had so much fun exploring some of my favorite streets with K+J during this downtown Charleston pregnancy announcement session. They are so sweet and I know they are going to be the best parents! We tried to figure out a way for me to travel to them for a Fresh 48 or newborn session, but with my schedule in Charleston I sadly couldn’t make it work. Instead, we are counting down until they can come back to Charleston with their sweet baby for a family session!

Boy or girl? They didn’t know at the time of the session but wanted to be able to share when they did!
