This home was so stunning for a lifestyle newborn session for this family of three. With natural light in almost every room, it was a photographer’s dream location for a precious new little one. It was also a prime example of following the pretty light, even if it means leaving the nursery!

The Beauty of a Lifestyle Newborn Session

For most expecting families, the nursery quickly becomes one of the most favored rooms in their home. With so much intention and love added to each detail, it’s no surprise. However, just because it’s extra special doesn’t mean we have to spend all our session time there. Actually, the variety of spaces we can use is one of my favorite perks of doing sessions in my clients’ homes.

Typically I do have my favorite “go-to” locations for lifestyle sessions. Usually, we will use the master bedroom (or whichever bedroom has lighter bedding and good natural light), the nursery, and the living room. I also encourage clients to share if they have a favorite spot in their homes.

Sometimes the locations that wouldn’t be first to mind end up being some of the sweetest!

Since this baby girl was sleeping so soundly, we decided to follow the pretty light into the kitchen, and… SWOON!! The portraits of the three of them in the living room were also some of my favorites.

Professional Hair and Makeup for your Newborn Session

On the morning of this session, my trusted team of hair and makeup artists came by to pamper Mom a bit before the session. So many Mamas are beginning to add this on to their newborn session because between professional hair and makeup and the client wardrobe, it makes it SO much easier to get ready for your session in the morning. I find when its less stressful for Mom, baby seems to do better too!
