It is truly such an honor to photograph clients as their families grow- it means so much when they continue to book me as they build their lives together. I photographed this sweet big sister’s newborn session, and it was such a joy documenting this new season with her baby brother in their beautiful Mount Pleasant home.

In-home newborn sessions with siblings | Mount Pleasant, SC Photographer

One of the first things I did when I arrived at this family’s home was to greet the new big sister! I love talking to siblings first before I meet baby to get them involved and feel like they are getting special attention. It also really helps kids feel comfortable when they recognize me from previous sessions like this sweet girl.

First, she showed me all of her stuffed animals, dolls, and books. I remembered these were such a beautiful part of her decor in her nursery. She was just so excited to show me around. It was the cutest thing!

Once we toured her room, I asked her to show me baby brother’s room. You’ll see below that his room is just as stunning as big sister’s!

As much as I love the simplicity of a studio newborn session, in-home newborn sessions are so special in that we can really feature the space where you bring baby home. And maybe it’s because I’m a mom myself, but it’s the details in these sessions that get me!

I think about the hours families will spending reading to their kids in that rocking chair. I notice the moses basket where babies will sleep by your side. And I love photographing families in the living spaces where, months from now, baby might take their first steps!!
