Whether you're coming to see a love-soaked family or lifestyle newborn session, glimpses of beautiful Charleston, or my favorite local restaurant and coffee shops - I am excited to share a little piece of my heart with you.
This maternity session at Charles Towne Landing was one of my first sessions at this gorgeous location and is still one of my favorites! When I was chatting with this sweet Mama-to-be, she mentioned that they loved the look of more natural locations with lots of greenery all of the southern charm that comes with large oak trees, Spanish Moss, and dappled light. Naturally, Charles Towne Landing seemed like the perfect fit. It was such a beautiful morning, and the sun through the Spanish moss was so pretty on film.
One of the details I will always walk you through during our planning process is selecting your session location. Choosing your location carefully is really important since it will be the backdrop for your session. We are spoiled here in Charleston with so many beautiful options! If you aren’t sure, I suggest deciding between a park or natural setting, downtown, or beach- then I can make suggestions from there!
A few other things you might want to consider when selecting location are parking access and possible photography fees. I’ll help you with all of this, though!
I love the variety of this location, and every corner of the venue offers something new. It does include a little more walking than some locations, but it has the charm of a plantation without the high plantation session fee.
Charles Towne Landing is also beautiful no matter the season. I particularly love the winter when the Camellia trees are blooming and in the Spring when the azaleas show off their colors!
This location must be booked at least two weeks in advance to acquire a permit which is an additional $25 plus admission for me (which will be added to your invoice) plus your own admission fees upon arrival. If you have the yearly parks pass, that covers your admission even for your session. Yay!
When planning your session here, we will always start at 9 AM when they open or about 1-1.5 hours before closing. I also suggest bringing a stroller for siblings.
While it may seem more complicated than a free local park, I will handle all of the planning for you! Plus, the views are one hundred percent worth it!
