The only way I can describe this beautiful lifestyle newborn session for baby J is classic and Southern. The Feltman Brother’s blanket, big sister’s precious outfit, and the sweetest family made this session such a joy to photograph.

When this beautiful mama reached out to me about a session, she mentioned they would be moving just before their baby boy was born. Additionally, she had hoped to do less photos in the bedroom than most lifestyle newborn sessions involve. I am always happy to work with my clients’ requests and their gorgeous home made this particular request easy.

By far I think the photos of baby J with his big sister are my favorite from the whole gallery. I am not sure if it could get any more sweet seeing her loving on him.

As a newborn photographer and mama of two, that sibling bond is one of my favorites to document!

This session was also my first session where I incorporated film into my workflow.

You know, those old cameras our parents used to take photos with where you had to have the film developed?!

I only took a few, but I just love the color tones and ethereal quality of film. However, film requires a lot of light. Big sister’s bedroom was the perfect space to use my 35mm camera. Film something I’ve been wanting to incorporate into sessions for a while. Between taking online courses, asking film photographers billions of questions, and practicing- I finally feel comfortable calling myself a hybrid photographer!

From now on I will be incorporating more and more film into my sessions!
