This Downtown Charleston family session is full of Southern charm! Sunshine, crepe myrtles, cobblestone streets. and a sweet family – what more could I ask for?!

It’s always fun to work with a fellow photographer, as I know how much they value photos. Melissa is a talented wedding photographer. She and her sweet family used to live here in Charleston but moved and are hoping to make it back here next year. In the meantime, I’m so thankful they spent part of their vacation with me!

We had originally planned to do their family photos on Folly Beach, but after a week of crazy weather, we ended up squeezing in a morning session in Downtown Charleston before they left. It was a beautiful, albeit very hot, morning!

Mama brought a soft pink dress from home and it was perfect for downtown. The color paired well with the crepe myrtles and of course, photographed beautifully on film. We put their sweet boy in one of my favorite little shorts + suspender outfits from the client wardrobe. He’s quite the handsome little guy!

I loved being able to spend some time getting to know Melissa and her family during their vacation. I cannot wait for them to make their way back here to Charleston!
