These are some of my very favorite maternity images ever! Being a Charleston film photographer doesn’t get much sweeter than this. The Star Jasmine was in full bloom, and it was the perfect spring day! 

All Film Charleston Maternity Session

The connection between this mom and dad-to-be was so beautiful. I’m convinced I could have spent the entire day strolling the streets of Charleston, chatting about their precious baby boy on the way. They were so easygoing, and we just had fun exploring the streets South of Broad, looking for Jasmine and stopping anywhere the light was pretty.

We even had an unexpected and fun experience on our stroll. As we turned around a corner, we heard a homeowner call for their dog. The dog’s name just happened to be the same name these two were planning for their baby. It was such a funny moment, and we all felt it was fate that we were supposed to be there.

I’m thrilled this family is one of my membership clients and that I’ll see them two more times. I recently photographed their beautiful baby boy, so he will be appearing on the blog soon. 

As a Charleston maternity photographer, it’s an incredible honor to see these sweet families grow through my memberships. It’s a beautiful way to create an experience for my clients and get to know them.

The Details 

I loved the dress Mom chose from the Client Wardrobe. It was the perfect fit for her and looked so pretty with all the blooming Jasmine and colorful Charleston streets. She had her hair and makeup done by one of my favorite artists, Lashes and Lace. They’re so great to work with, and one of my favorite ways to help busy mamas prepare for their family or maternity sessions is helping book pre-session pampering!

This session was an all-film session. Film will forever be one of my favorite mediums to use for so many reasons. Mostly I love the way I’m able to play with light. Digital is lovely and will always be something I utilize in my work, but there’s something extra special about film’s process and end result.
