This Hampton Park maternity session was so pretty and one of my favorites from last summer! Exactly one year ago, I met this lovely couple at the park to celebrate the newest little life that would soon be part of their family. 

The Location 

Hampton Park is one of my favorite locations for maternity and family sessions. It’s also one of the most requested, but I have zero complaints. There are so many beautiful little nooks to create variety within your portrait session, no matter the time of year. Though I’m slightly partial to spring – hello, Star Jasmine, there are blooms here during every season. Of course, in Spring and Summer, the flowers really show off. There’s also a gorgeous row of Spanish moss that is so lovely just as the sun starts to set behind it. Film is also partial to the colors here and picks up the prettiest tones! 

It’s also one of the most consistent locations, and pretty easy to find a beautiful place to tuck away, even when it’s busy. Another perk; it doesn’t require a ton of walking! Whether you love the blooms of spring or the pretty green tones of summer, we can get a lot of variety in the photos without walking very far. I also love using the gazebo for a classic Charleston feel. 

A Summer Maternity Session

This couple was so sweet and the excitement of celebrating their baby girl was so apparent throughout their entire session. They were so joyful, and Mom was beaming the whole session. She wore one of my favorite dresses from my client wardrobe – the perfect choice for a balmy summer evening in Charleston! Making sure you’re comfortable and cool throughout your session is always on my mind when adding new pieces to the client wardrobe!
