One of the things I love most about offering lifestyle newborn sessions is being able to document families where they bring home baby. So many of the families I’ve worked with lately have recently moved or are in the building process- making an in-home newborn session even more special. It’s not often I walk into a home mid-renovation, but this sweet family really wanted these special photos in their brand new Mount Pleasant home, so that’s what we did!

Making a home your own is special in its own right, but knowing your precious new baby will grow within those walls gives me all of the feels.

I just imagine the new breakfast nook that will soon be used for sticky pancake breakfasts, the windows she’ll look out of as the rain comes down, or the hallways where she will take her first steps.

Newborn Photos in Mount Pleasant

I love that this family chose to have their newborn photos in their Mount Pleasant home, even though it was unfinished. It was a beautiful testament to seeing the bigger vision and documenting this part of their journey! I can’t think of a better way to honor these walls that will keep them safe and warm over the coming years. It was the perfect backdrop to document new baby snuggles. 

Renovating isn’t for the faint of heart (trust me, I know from experience!), but this family was as calm and sweet as can be. I especially love that they chose to use the master bedroom even though it was completely empty.

The light was just too pretty to pass up, and I loved how it was a blank slate like a studio. Some of my favorite photos are the ones in front of the window with light pouring in around them. And some of my newest favorite Dad and baby photos are also from this session! 

Mom borrowed a dress from the CMP Client Wardrobe, which I’m so glad I could offer to help take some extra stress off of her shoulders! They also joined me for Motherhood Minis this past Spring and it was SO fun to see them again. I can’t wait to share more from that special day and how much their sweet little one has grown!
