2020 was quite the year, but I’m so happy it allowed this sweet family to extend their stay in Charleston. Not only did I get to take their beautiful maternity photos in Downtown Charleston, but we also got to do their in-home newborn session together!

Their home was undergoing renovations so we did most of their newborn photos in one room. Even with limited space, we were able to get a huge variety in the gallery. The light was beautiful coming in through the tall bay windows. It was perfect for documenting some of their session on film, too.

Big sister was so sweet the whole time and I think it helped that she already knew me from their previous session. In the few moments she started getting antsy, I had Dad pick her up and play airplane while on the bed. Those ended up being some of my favorite photos of the session!

Meanwhile little brother was a dream baby! He was almost 5 weeks old for his lifestyle newborn session. This is “older” than a typical newborn session which usually takes place up to 14 days after birth, but I loved seeing him more alert. We got to see his beautiful brown eyes before he snoozed for a bit. I also loved the photo where both kids are making a similar, silly expression!
