As a photographer in Charleston, I am pretty spoiled when it comes to finding pretty locations for my clients’ sessions. And these maternity photos in Charleston turned out to be some of my favorites! It was such a joy to celebrate this sweet couple’s new little bundle on the way and the journey ahead for them.

Maternity Photos in Charleston

We met at one of my favorite locations in Charleston, Hampton Park, to soak up the last light of the day. Hampton Park has everything a photographer could want- spanish moss, beautiful blooms just about any time of year, little hidden pathways that make for some magical photos, and lots of space to spread out on a crowded day. Plus, in early Spring, the rose pavilion is just divine!

This sweet family is part of my First Year Membership, and this was the perfect way to begin our time together. Because of that, I’ll see them two more times as their sweet baby grows (and hopefully after as well). They opted for Maternity, Newborn, and a Six-Month sitter session for their membership.

During their entire session, they were so joyful and excited about their baby boy’s arrival. It couldn’t have been a more wonderful experience. The day was a bit cloudy to start, but the sun started peeking through the clouds toward the end of our session.

Mama just had such a beautiful glow about her, doesn’t she? I love the dresses she chose for this session, including a white smocked midi dress from the Client Wardrobe. She also changed into a dress she brought from home at the end! You’re always welcome to select from the wardrobe or bring your own clothing for your session. I keep an assortment of beautiful options for all body types AND your littles too! Plus, I can’t wait to start welcoming you to the studio soon for wardrobe appointments!

The best part of the experience was Mom’s reaction to her images. She cried happy tears, which was the best response and such a gift. It tells me how much they appreciate documenting these moments, and it’s one of the main reasons I love this beautiful job. I can’t wait to share their precious newborn session with you soon!
