The summer heat was not going to stop us from doing this maternity session in Downtown Charleston! I met up with this sweet family a few hours before sunset and strolled some of the most iconic streets in Charleston, including Rainbow Row and Tradd Street! Despite feeling like we were going to melt, we had the best time. It was so fun getting to know big sis, she is seriously the cutest!

As a Charleston photographer, my summer sessions are usually filled with a lot of families vacationing here in the Lowcountry. But due to Covid, I didn’t see as much of that this year. However, these three (+ baby!), were in Charleston visiting family just before the initial lockdown and ended up staying. They were so appreciative of my styling recommendations and I loved seeing big sis in one of the dresses available in my Client Wardrobe.

I am so thankful that during a season of so much uncertainty, we were still able to capture these milestones for them. Can you imagine the stories they will be able to tell their sweet boy one day? He made his arrival just a few weeks after their maternity session and I cannot wait to share his newborn session with you!

Double Exposure on Film

I was so excited for this family’s maternity session in Downtown Charleston. My new medium format camera had just come in and I really wanted to create something special for this Mama. I had been practicing double exposure with my digital camera, but it just doesn’t compare to what I know film can do. My vision came to life and this photo is one of my favorites and my very first double exposure on film!
