I am so glad this sweet family was able to come out for a sunset fall mini session at Hampton Park. Over the last few years they have become some of our closest friends here in Charleston. I see them often, but it’s not until I get them in front of my camera and look back at previous sessions we’ve done, do I realize how much they have grown. It feels like yesterday I was photographing E’s lifestyle newborn session and now she’s two!

Although I photographed 10 families at Hampton Park that day, I manage to never grow tired of this place! Depending on the time of year, day and how the sun is, it looks different! The park is so big, I can walk around during a mini or full family session and find different spots every time. It’s a gem!

When I start any family session I always tell clients to just focus on having fun. Let the kids explore! Be silly and flip them upside down or tickle until those big belly laughs come out. Fall mini sessions can be tough for kids who don’t quite know the photographer yet, but these two kiddos see me often so they did great.

I also loved Mama’s choice for outfits! I sent some styling inspiration to her and she rolled with the color scheme and sweet Southern outfits for the kids. They are the perfect example of how you can have classic, timeless outfits that still work for Fall photos!
